WHERE
WE ARE
The WE program started as a dialogue program designed for factories, but its potential reaches far beyond. Our way of working has been tried and tested all over the world, with coffee farmers, tea pickers, and migrant workers to name a few. We are exploring WE with waste pickers and mine workers right now.
In essence, WE works where large groups of people do the hard work under difficult circumstances. Those people are too often labelled ‘voiceless’, uneducated or unwilling, while the truth is actually the opposite. And WE can prove that.
WE can support in areas where the complexity of the system causes harm and easy solutions are not the answer. Where you need to work together to move forward, but the reality on the ground makes it tough to do so. Where the effects of power, hierarchy, or gender discrimination are painfully obvious, but still ignored.
Those places where despite everything you have tried so far - audits, certification, capacity building, to name a few - are not enough.
In short, those places where one person alone cannot change the system.
